FigureIt Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
FigureIt is a local-first browser extension. We do not operate servers, and we do not collect, store, transmit or sell your data.
What the extension stores
Guides, screenshots, annotations and settings are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and chrome.storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it or send it somewhere.
Data that leaves your device, only at your request
Google Drive: if you choose "Save to Drive", the exported file is uploaded to your own Google Drive using the drive.file scope, which only allows access to files created by FigureIt. We never see this data.
AI features: if you add your own AI provider API key, screenshots and step text are sent to that provider's API when you run an AI action (such as writing titles or detecting regions to blur). Your key is stored locally in your browser and requests go directly from your browser to your provider. Your provider's privacy policy applies to those requests.
Sensitive data protection
During recording, FigureIt masks values typed into password, payment card and other sensitive fields before a step is saved.
What we collect
Nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts.
Changes
If a future version adds optional hosted features (such as shareable links), this policy will be updated before release, and those features will be opt-in.
